Our Chartered Building Surveyor Patrick Rego started his career in the late 1990s as a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician, working for an office furniture company preparing floor plans and undertaking measured surveys.
In the early 2000s he diversified into Computer Aided Facilities Management, or CAFM as it is known. He administered layout changes to American Express offices based in the UK and the US.
In the mid 2000s, Patrick and his wife Paula took a years sabbatical to take positions in Bermuda. Patrick worked for an architectural firm based on the island, and used his measured survey and CAD knowledge on various commercial and residential projects.
On return to the UK in 2005 Patrick worked on a freelance basis for several architectural and surveying firms. An increase in instructions from building surveying firms led to Patrick returning to Brighton University to complete an honours degree in Building Surveying, which was completed in 2011.
Patrick gained his chartered status with the RICS in 2013 and has been in constant employment as a Chartered Building Surveyor up until forming PJR Surveying in 2022.
Patrick lives in Seaford East Sussex with his wife Paula and their two boys.
